BJ Davis – Executive Director
BJ brings over decade of development and nonprofit leadership experience to Earth Care. Having grown up on a family farm in Virginia, BJ comes to the work with a passion and commitment for creating sustainable and just communities. Prior to taking on her role at Earth Care, BJ was the statewide program director for the Alzheimer’s Association of New Mexico. Her work for social causes has spanned Planned Parenthood, the Orange County Equality Coalition, The Peace Center in Langhorne, PA and the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC. She is a member of the The Association of Fundraising Professionals, on the Board for Zona Del Sol Youth Consortium, and a member of the Santa Fe Green Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee. BJ has taken her skills and talents to various parts of the world. She has worked with the Compassionate Listening Project interfaith delegation to Israel and the Palestinian Authority, as well as volunteering with Cross Cultural Solutions in Bangkok, Thailand where she worked in an infectious disease hospital with children who had HIV. She holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Radford University.  bj@earthcarenm.org

 

 

Christina Selby – Co-Founder & Education Director

Christina provides model programs, workshops and consulting services to teachers and schools to integrate sustainability/ecojustice education and service-learning across the curriculum. Christina holds a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution and Animal Behavior from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s in Environment and Community through Antioch University Seattle where she did her thesis on the importance of culture and cultural democracy as a fourth pillar in sustainability education. She also holds graduate certificates in Integrated Skills for Sustainable Change and Ecological Planning and Design. Previous to Earth Care, Christina served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a remote subsistence village in Panama where she worked in Permaculture and sustainable community development from 1999-2001. She also worked in environmental education for seven years in Minnesota, Oregon and Wyoming and in a bilingual environmental health program providing Latino immigrant families on the southside of Milwaukee, WI. In her free moments, Christina works with her family and neighbors to restore their eighteen acres of land and develop a backyard farm and permaculture site. They currently have 1/2 acre of vegetables in production, 1/4 acre orchard, and 17 chickens.

Bianca Sopoci-Belknap – Youth & Community Programs Director
Bianca joined Earth Care in 2006 to launch the Youth Allies for Sustainability program. She holds a B.A. from Antioch College in Social and Global Studies with a focus in Sustainable Economic Development. Born and raised in New Mexico, Bianca has been organizing around issues of social justice and sustainability in her community since she was a teen at Santa Fe High School. Before joining Earth Care, Bianca worked as an educator and community advocate for a number of organizations across the country including Global Exchange, the Border Network for Human Rights, and Del Pueblo Inc., and the Santa Fe-based organization Local Energy doing research and political education for local renewable energy projects.

Eden Radfarr – AmeriCorps*VISTA/Youth Allies Coordinator
Eden joins Earth Care as the AmeriCorps*VISTA/Youth Allies Coordinator. Eden is studying film and brings a background in teaching and youth development, media and performing arts, and administration.

Rose Rose Griego – Operations Manager  Rose is an accountant and business manager who comes with 15+ years of experience, both in corporate and non-profit accounting. As a finance professional, she brings together the business acumen of the corporate world and a heartfelt commitment to non-profits, to create an accounting approach that is the best of both worlds. Rose is not “from” anywhere, having grown up in a military family, and landed in Santa Fe after having lived all over the country. Rose currently volunteers her financial expertise on the boards of several local NPO’s, supporting everything from human services to performing arts to the environment. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. holly hsHolly Roach
Press & Development Manager

Holly comes to Earth Care from the film industry where she worked as a Location Scout and Environmental Steward for the past eight years.  Holly is one of the founding members of the Direct Action Network and a member of the Art & Revolution collective. Holly has a passion for organizing with diverse communities and bridge building between communities.  Her most favorite work is where both people and Earth are served in mutually liberating ways. Prior to running off with the movies, Holly worked in the social profit sector doing development, event/concert production and media in the San Francisco/Bay Area. Holly is an Environmental Film and Event Consultant and has a company called Green Production Resource.  Holly is also the Youth & Family Program Coordinator at Zona del Sol, home and offices to Earth Care.  She can be reached via email holly@earthcarenm.org of by cell 505-554-7133.
