GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE - NEW MEXICO!

One of the gravest issues facing our young people is the threat of catastrophic climate change.

Our youth have organized and are leading the northern New Mexico hub of the Sunrise movement with youth members from Santa Fe, Española, San Felipe Pueblo, Kiwa Pueblo, Picuris Pueblo, and Las Vegas, NM.

The group convenes a weekly Leadership Council meeting on Thursdays at 6PM in Santa Fe at our partner office 343 East Alameda. Though the Leadership Council is comprised of young leaders from our Youth Allies programming who represent the diverse communities of northern New Mexico and our Native, Latinx, Chicanx, and low-income communities - the meetings are open to any young people who'd like to attend.

To get involved, contact sunrise@earthcarenm.org

There is a Climate Strike Planning meeting scheduled for July 13th from 2-4PM at the Center for Progress and Justice.

Want to hear more about this issue from Greta Thunberg, the youth activist that started FridayForFuture? Click here
