CLIMATE STRIKE - ALBUQUERQUE

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 20

12:30 PM – 5 PM

at Robinson Park

🔥Our house is on fire - let's start acting like it 🔥

www.ClimateStrikeABQ.com

12:00 - School Walkouts
12:30 pm - 5:00 pm Climate Action Fair
1:00 pm - Climate Emergency Rally
1:45 pm - March to U.S. Senators Heinrich & Udall offices to
demand a Green New Deal
2:00 pm Children's March for Our Future

We, the youth of Albuquerque, are striking from school because we have but a few years to transform our energy system and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to prevent the worst effects of climate change. The clock is ticking, and stops for no one.

We are striking because if the social order is disrupted by our refusal to attend school, then the system is forced to face the climate crisis and enact change. With our futures at stake, we call for urgent legislative action to combat climate change and its countless detrimental effects on the American people. It is time we take a stand, and demand action from our nation and world’s leaders.

We are striking because marginalized communities across our nation —especially Indigenous communities, disabled communities, and low-income communities— are already disproportionately impacted by climate change.

HIGH SCHOOL WALKOUTS:
Walkouts will begin at 12pm, students along with adult allies will convene on Robinson Park at 1pm before marching shortly after.

CLIMATE ACTION FAIR:
Students & adults of all ages are invited to learn how to get involved in the climate emergency movement, take action, and to join local
artists, poets, musicians, anytime between 12:30pm and 5pm for our "Climate Action Fair" sponsored by local community organizations and full of fun, safe, and engaging ways you can help combat the crisis!
